I use social media marketing for artists I work with but it is very expensive. Its seems inexpensive because you can do it in small increments but it adds up. From my experience its better to go with 10-15% social media pay marketing and focus the rest on DJ and blogs. The only real way to benefit from free social media marketing is to post consistently everyday with quality pics and video, if you don't have the time to do that then try pay sponsored ads 15% and invest the rest of your budget into DJ Support and blog placements.
So this is what has worked for me in the past.
85% spent on DJ and blog support
15% on sponsored social media ads etc...
